10 Tips For Getting Started On A Workout Program

 Set a SMART goal and write it down.

What do you want to accomplish?  Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Timely

Find your motivation.

Why do you need to exercise? Physical, Emotional, Psychological, Social benefits

Identify barriers and challenges. 

What seems to be the problem? Time, Family, Work, Knowledge, Experience, etc.

Make a decision and make it only once.

How serious are you? No excuses. No quitting.

Make a commitment.

How many days per week? (Cardio, Strength, Flexibility)

 Make a plan. 

6 months, 12 months? Progression is the key.

Get some help.

Who do you know? Personal Trainer, Registered Dietician, Yoga Instructor.

 Start off slow and don’t overdo it.

Did you get unfit in a day? No, it took some time.

Take the first step and get started on something

What do you enjoy?  Walking, Running, Swimming, Lifting Weights, Core, Flexibility, etc.

Stick with it, it won’t be easy.

How bad do you want it? Nothing worth doing is ever easy.
