Happy 4th of July! I hope your day is filled with family and friends, holiday traditions, good food and lots of laughter.
Ever since I was a little girl, my family has always gone to Clear Lake, Iowa for the 4th of July. Clear Lake is a wonderful small town situated right on the lake. Clear Lake’s claim to fame is the Surf Ballroom, where Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper played their final show in 1959.
Clear Lake has a town square, a Corner Drug that still has made-to-order Cherry Cokes and Green Rivers, and a carnival every 4th of July. Each year, the 4th of July celebration kicks off with a parade on Main Street and ends with fireworks at night over the lake.
I have so many wonderful memories of 4th of July celebrations in Clear Lake with my family and friends. Each year, I look forward to settling into this cute, little town. A place that takes great pride in its small town values and decorating the town in red, white and blue, and I truly enjoy a day rich in American tradition.
While we live in a global community and pride ourselves on partnering with the best in the shoe business from brands around the globe, we are also especially proud to carry products that are Made in the USA. So, today, as we celebrate the USA, I thought it would be fun to take a look at the brands that Schuler Shoes carries that are Made in the USA. Brands that pride themselves on hard work, quality craftsmanship and excellent products. These brands include Munro, Keen, Keen Socks, New Balance, New Balance Socks, and Point6. We also carry Smartwool, which is assembled in the USA. I picked out a few photos of my favorites.
The Munro American brand operates three Arkansas factories and a distribution and warehousing facility in Hot Springs. The Munro American brand states that it “is one of the few remaining shoe manufacturers in the United States and we pride ourselves on being able to compete in a market place dominated by imported footwear.
